What is a Boiler Feed Pump?
An industrial boiler feed pump is a specific type of pump that’s used to pump feedwater into a steam boiler. For industrial boilers to produce steam, they first need water. This is accomplished by providing freshwater or returning condensate produced from the condensation of the steam produced from the boiler. There are a variety of low-high volume pressure pumps that provides high pressure that takes suction from a condensate return system, which is usually a centrifugal pump type or positive displacement type. Industrial boiler feed pumps then transport the feedwater at high pressure from the deaerator tank to the boiler, ensuring that it never goes dry.
