WHAT WE DO

WASTE HEAT RECOVERY BOILER MANUFACTURER

As a leading waste heat recovery boiler manufacturing company, Industrial Boilers America’s waste heat recovery boilers are designed to handle the demands of industrial operations, especially for factories and facilities. Our engineers can design the waste heat recovery boiler for your application at a competitive price and delivery.

Plant managers and engineers know that energy is an expensive line item for facility operations, and the costs of natural gas and electricity only continue to rise. That’s why making sure your system operates as efficiently as possible is crucial to maintaining cost-effectiveness. This is where waste heat recovery boilers can add value to your operations.

Waste heat boilers come in variable sizes and capacities to match your needs. Gas intakes can handle anywhere from 1,000 to 1 million ft3/minute, adding steam capacity for industries like ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, chemicals, refineries, glass, and any other sector that requires additional steam.

What is a WASTE HEAT RECOVERY BOILER?

Waste heat is the heat that’s been generated by any machine or tool that usually gets discarded. Waste heat exists in every application and technology, from computers to car engines, vacuum cleaners, fans, televisions, jackhammers, CNC machines, lighting, and every other machine imaginable. This heat is the energy that’s regularly dissipated into the environment and lost, hence the name “waste.” The heat is lost at numerous touchpoints throughout the boiler system. Typical losses happen from flue gasses, heat loss from pipes, boiler exhaust, and hot air vented from heating rooms.

Waste heat recovery boilers use the wasted heat to generate additional steam for industrial applications and machinery. Waste heat recovery boilers operate on the same principle as a typical industrial boiler but take the energy from exhaust gases rather than their burner.

One thing you’ll want to consider about waste heat recovery boilers for your facility is that they only generate steam when the entire process is running. This type of boiler only supplements existing boiler systems but does not replace them entirely. Although it’s an additional expense, they cost significantly less to operate without the need for combustion and maintenance from soot blowers, providing a rapid return on investment.

A soot blower works by using either steam or high-pressure air to blow the soot off the surfaces of the boiler. Compressed air and steam are the two primary mediums for removing soot.

Steam is a popular route due to its lower cost than the capital requirement for compressors, motors, and control of air systems. Once the soot is removed, it is carried away through the system by flue gas and ends up in a dust collector or expelled through the smokestack.

OUR CAPABILITIES

BENEFITS OF WASTE HEAT RECOVERY BOILERS

Waste heat recovery boilers offer several benefits for your facility, including:

Reduced Operating Costs

Waste heat recovery boilers operate on minimal energy and fuel consumption, which allows the operating costs associated with this boiler to be significantly lower than the other typical industrial boilers.

Increased Steam Capacity

One of the biggest benefits of adding a waste heat recovery boiler is that you will see an increased steam capacity for your facility with the addition of a second boiler.

Reduced Fuel Consumption

Because much of the energy in this boiler comes from waste gas, the amount of fuel necessary to produce steam will be significantly lower than in a combustion boiler, even if an auxiliary burner is required.

Reduced Emissions

Without the need for natural gas or biomass for combustion, a waste heat boiler does not add emissions to the system. If an auxiliary burner is required, any additional emissions fall far below the levels of a conventional boiler.
