What is a WASTE HEAT RECOVERY BOILER?

Waste heat is the heat that’s been generated by any machine or tool that usually gets discarded. Waste heat exists in every application and technology, from computers to car engines, vacuum cleaners, fans, televisions, jackhammers, CNC machines, lighting, and every other machine imaginable. This heat is the energy that’s regularly dissipated into the environment and lost, hence the name “waste.” The heat is lost at numerous touchpoints throughout the boiler system. Typical losses happen from flue gasses, heat loss from pipes, boiler exhaust, and hot air vented from heating rooms.

Waste heat recovery boilers use the wasted heat to generate additional steam for industrial applications and machinery. Waste heat recovery boilers operate on the same principle as a typical industrial boiler but take the energy from exhaust gases rather than their burner.
